Meet the team

Jae designed the first pair of ScratchSleeves for her itchy son back in 2008 and set up the business the following year. Coming from a family of eczema sufferers, Jae draws on years of practical, first hand experience living with eczema. Her scientific background impels her to root out the research (or lack of it) behind the myths and hype surrounding the management of eczema. She is the author of ‘The Calm Skin Guide: How to manage childhood eczema’ published by Profile Books.

Tess has over 20 years of marketing experience working across both private and public sector and specialising in corporate branding. Her son Finn was born six weeks prematurely in 2010 and as a result she has personal experience of both Intensive Care and SCBU and a deep understanding of the trauma caused by watching your child suffering. Tess joined ScratchSleeves in 2016 and loves being able to help our little clients and other parents who are struggling.

Kirsty is an early years professional, sleep consultant and eczema mum.
Not only does Kirsty have eczema herself, so do her two children, Emily and William. It was Emily’s struggles with itch-disturbed sleep that motivated Kirsty to train as a sleep consultant. We can’t think of a better person to be sharing top tips on helping an eczema child to sleep.

Claire has been a writer ever since she learned to hold a pen. Naturally, her early career was in journalism where she enjoyed features writing in particular. 20+ years on, Claire continues to do the works she loves as a copywriter. Her children both suffered from eczema as babies so she knows what it’s like to have to deal with this horrible condition.

Maisie has always been interested in nutrition and how it effects both physical and mental conditions. She is in her final year at university studying Nutrition and Health going on to study a Masters. When she can’t be found studying or exercising, she can often be found in the kitchen indulging in a passion for food. Maisie has been very excited to apply her knowledge of nutrition and how it can impact individuals with eczema.

Doctor Sam Hunt qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of medicine in 1993. She trained in General Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’s hospital, then specialised in Dermatology, training on the North West Thames Rotation. Sam moved to Hampshire in 2004 to take up a Consultant post in Portsmouth where she led the psoriasis and biologics service for 11 years. She took up her current Consultant post in Winchester in 2015 to work closer to home and look after her young family.

Nikky is both GP and mum to an eczema boy with a number of allergies. Before training as a GP, Nikky spent many years working in A&E so really knows her way around the front-line treatment of eczema and allergy within the NHS.
